Macmillan, the cancer support charity, are holding their ‘World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ fundraising event on Friday September 29th and BEAR, the premier coffee house of Uttoxeter, are aiming to play their part with 100% of coffee sales from 8am – 12noon being donated to the cause.
BEAR co-founder, Craig Bunting said: “With some 2.5 million people in the UK currently living with cancer and the likelihood that 1 in 3 of us will, at some point, get it, this was an easy choice for us – particularly having witnessed family members come to terms with the disease. We value and are strong advocates for our local community, so giving something back in this way is important to us.”
BEAR opened its first outlet on Uttoxeter High Street in 2016 and quickly earned a reputation for great coffee, brunch and cocktails from early morning to late in the evening.
The coffee, kitchen and bar brand is planning some ambitious expansion too, with a new site set to open in Derby in November and a string of other openings scheduled over the next couple of years.
Last year, the Macmillan coffee morning raised some £29.5m across the UK and, as Craig put it: “Our existing customers are already right behind our event, but for anyone who hasn’t already tried our coffee, come and support us on Friday 29th and help make it Uttoxeter’s biggest coffee morning.”
