Sir Hans Sloane wins Hot Chocolate Taste Test competition

Sir Hans Sloane were crowned ‘Winner’ of the Sunday Telegraph’s Hot Chocolate Taste Test, beating 10 other brands including: Green & Black’s, Cadbury, Rococo and Paul Young. The panel liked the thicker texture and rich flavour!

Sloane’s make Posh Hot Chocolate! It takes half a day to shine their unique chocolate beads. Inspired by the great Sir Hans Sloane – Physician to King George I and II, who in the late 17th century tasted a cocoa drink whilst on a trip to in Jamaica and came up with the idea of combining it with milk to make a more palatable drink. He then sold his recipe to the chocolate houses in London, including Whites of Soho.

Fast forward 300 years and today Sir Hans Sloane sell their Posh Hot Chocolate to many coffee shops and restaurants, so they can serve a Hot Chocolate that is as good as their coffee. Their range includes Smooth Milk, Rich Dark, Madagascar 67%, Ecuador 70% and our new Barista Blend of Milk and Dark Chocolate. Their unique chocolate beads are ideal for barista use and melt quickly in hot milk.
